it is a triangular reddish white lesion on the cornea coming from the inner corner of the eye. The patient will look cosmetically not very good and the pterygium will cause astigmatism [cylindrical number], which will cause dimness of vision. We, at arham eye hospital, perform the ultimate surgery of pterygium excision with autoconjunctival grafting, in which we take a required part of upper conjunctiva [inner eye skin] and paste it on the site of pterygium removal. This plastic surgery eliminates the incidence of recurrence, so pterygium once excised, will not come back!!
